At Gutwein Law, Nick practices in the areas of real estate and general corporate law where he helps his clients navigate high stakes transactions using his creative problem-solving abilities.

Having been on both sides of the table of numerous real estate matters, Nick has the practical knowledge to help clients achieve their goals and get their deals closed. With more than a decade of experience representing buyers, sellers, and developers in the acquisition, entitlement, financing, and leasing of various real estate properties, Nick is well-positioned to be a vital business partner no matter the type or size of your project.

Before joining Gutwein Law, Nick served as corporate counsel for an Indianapolis-based developer and manager of residential and commercial real estate. In his time there, he prepared and negotiated commercial leases, ensured compliance with Indiana business laws, and served as principal closing attorney for unique and varied acquisitions, sales, and refinancing transactions.

Additionally, Nick has held positions at various regional and national law firms where he has represented business owners in contract, employment, real estate, insurance, construction defect and premises liability cases.

Nick received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University Bloomington with a major in Economics before obtaining his J.D. from Indiana University McKinney School of Law in 2012.

Outside of the office, Nick spends his free time with his wife, Libby, and two daughters, Lucy and Birdie. He is also an avid auto racing fan and race winner in the Kart Racers of America Club Series at Newcastle Motorsports Park. He has previously served on boards for S.E.N.D., Flight 1, and League of Ivy / IvyTech.
