John Goth is an experienced attorney who primarily practices in the areas of estate & succession planning and general business law.
When it comes to estate planning, John develops solutions that meet his clients’ specific needs and goals. Whether a business owner, individual, or family, John makes sure their assets are given the proper attention they deserve and are passed on in accordance with their wishes. He makes it a priority to ensure his clients understand and are well-guided through complex legal topics, so they feel confident in knowing their estate plan meets their objectives.
Additionally, John works closely with businesses to help create and implement solutions throughout all stages of the business lifecycle, such as incorporating or organizing the business, putting together corporate organizational documents and contracts, assisting in ownership restructuring, faciliating mergers and acquisitions, and ultimately working with them to formulate a succession plan to figure out what the business’s legacy will be for the next generation.
John also counsels political subdivisions, including public library boards, in all matters involving local government law. He ensures compliance with public bidding laws, serves as local counsel in bond issuances, and offers legal guidance when it comes to day-to-day operations.
John attended the University of Evansville and graduated with a degree in Business Administration before receiving his J.D. from Indiana University McKinney School of Law.
Prior to joining Gutwein Law, John spent more than six years at a regional law firm in Evansville, Indiana. John is a past member of Historic Newburgh, Inc. and is the past President of the Evansville Bar Association, Probate Elder Law Guardianship Section.
When he's not in the office, John enjoys exploring new places and taking adventures with his family. He appreciates musical theatre and classical music, and he is an avid sports watcher. He is a devoted fan of all things Minnesota sports and Arsenal F.C.
