David Roberts, Intellectual Property Attorney: So tech startups are often faced with whether they have a licensing opportunity or not. And what you need to ask yourself, really, is what your goals are and what you want for the company. If your goal is to operate the company, that’s a completely different strategy than whether you want to license out the technology and move on to some other opportunity. So it’s a fact-dependent question and you need to build your legal strategy around that goal.
