City of West Lafayette Small Business Stabilization Fund Grants
Updated April 24, 2020
The City of West Lafayette has allocated $500,000 towards grants for West Lafayette locally owned businesses located in a low-moderate income area that have lost income due to COVID-19. Microbusinesses with 5 or fewer employees (including owners) are eligible for a grant up to $10,000. Small businesses with 6 or more employees are eligible for a grant up to $15,000. According to a press release from the city, “Priority will be given to those businesses that support low to moderate income individuals, retain jobs, are directly affected by stay-at-home orders, and are locally owned.”
Grants may be used for rent or mortgage expense, utilities, debt payments, insurance, payroll, “retooling operations to continue to provide operations and support, or losses due to destabilizing events.” Grant recipients are limited to those not receiving other federal funds.
There are two phases of funding with application deadlines of May 1 and July 1 so long as funds are available. Businesses can start applying now.
