Joe is an attorney with Gutwein Law's litigation practice group. His deep litigation experience spreads through all aspects of the case ranging from injunction hearings to trial. Joe's litigation focus is rooted in real estate, general business matters, and matters common in the startup world such as breach of fiduciary claims and founder disputes. Joe is also a skilled appellate advocate with experience at both the Indiana Court of Appeals and Indiana Supreme Court. Prior to joining Gutwein Law, Joe was a business owner himself, which helped him gain an understanding of the various issues and uncertainties that affect companies, whether new or established, and takes great pride in helping them over those hurdles.
Joe graduated with honors from Indiana University with a degree in History, Economics, and German prior to attending Indiana University Maurer School of Law as a Lofton Scholarship Fellow. While in law school, Joe was a member of the ICLEO program, where he clerked for the Indiana Court of Appeals. Now, outside of the firm, he volunteers with the Indianapolis Bar Association and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana. Joe also recently graduated from the IndyBar Bar Leader Series Class XIV. Joe is currently serving on the IndyBar Young Lawyers Division Executive Committee and is the administrator for the Sagamore American Inn of Court.
